How do I adjust font colours Ive tried the drop down list but can't get it to work what am I doing wrong?

If you click the Font colour dropdown BEFORE you star to type the text that you want coloured, it will start a fresh line with:
All you have to do is click the cursor in between the ][ and start typing.
When you have finished with the red text, just move the cursor to the next line after the [/color]
and you text will revert back to black.
