any one had a problem adding 17" alloy wheels to a cabriolet. I had 16's and went up to 17's. Had to replace tracking rods on both front wheels, as they had seized. then had the steering rack replaced, as it was loose. this caused the car to pull left and right, when accelerating or braking, as well as when there was a deep camber in the road. Now That the steering rack has been replaced. It still pulls, but only in the camber of the road. Do you think i just need to re-track the wheels ? someone else suggested that the suspension setup is not right for the wheels. it kind of driving me mad !

I think you have answered the question yourself, It looks like you need the services of a good mechanic to have a good look round your car. Anyway what do you need such large wheels fo, are you some kind of a chav

Yep, id go for 4 wheel tracking this time and get the camber checked aswell.
Are they directional tyres on it as these tend to pull the car around

Correct, get 4 wheel laser alignment done, caster/camber should be taken care of at the same time, my car was exhibiting symptoms like above after i had fitted -30mm lowering springs, the wheel alignment sorted it out. A lot of people go about doing mods to their suspension and wheels without giving a thought to what will happen once its on the road!! As ^neo^ said, tyres, i bet you're running on wider tyres now so this aint going to help, my tyres are directional and nearly 9" wide and they do suffer tramlining from time to time

You will probably find the 17" wheels are not the correct offset for your vehicle. This is when you start to get the "tramlining" effect.

Nout much you can do, other than get wheels as close to the manufacturers original offset as possible.

But obviously make sure the tracking was done after the rack was fitted. But tramlining is not caused by tracking.
