Can someone please tell me if both fog lights on my Escort have to be working? I have an MOT tomorrow and was wondering if both of them have to be working or just the near side(driver's side).

The reason I ask is that the wife reversed into a concrete bollard and smashed the boot/rear end quite badly. It was all repaired but only one fog light works (driver's side) I thought the bulb had blown on the passenger side so, when I went to replace it and take the cover off, there was no bulb/light fitting / wires there at all !! There just seems to be a little silver blank plate/disk where the bulb should go.

Have the garage who done the crash repair done a botch job or is it just the case that I need only one (near side) fog light working ?

In a word no. You only need one rear fog light. Lots of cars only have one rear fog.

Thanks, RATM. I suspected this was the case but I just wanted to be sure.

Thanks again. :)

escort only has one on the off-side(drivers side) as standard. all that is required for mot.
