I have tried to fit a new Immersion heater to a fortic cylinder it has 2 immersions one for boost and one for economy 7. the cylinder has a history of immersion replacements.
The old immersion will not budge and there is eveidence of damage to the cylinder around the immersion (maybe overtightened)
Have recomended replace the cylinder as I believe there is limescale damage.
My question is What type of Fortic is this one it has no central heating as the flat has storage rads and has 2 immersions.
am I on the right track with the limescale issue?

why do you believe there to be limescale damage ?

why replace the fortic just cause of a tight immersion ?
probably the wrong type of element fitted for this areas water.

if its heated by two immersions only then its a direct fortic.
is it mains pressure hw or just gravity hw ?
