What size wood is it necessary to use for the battens and uprights to support a bath on. I've been thinking of 2"x 2", but having done some measuring, I think this may be too big, for the uprights anyway, (fine on the wall battens). Would 1"x 1" be ok for the uprights?

To actually support the bath?

It should have its own leg kit and then it is prudent to add some timber across the direction of the floor joists under the feet.

Oh dear, I think I've read that wrong

I thought it was for bath panel !

that was my assumption too but thought I would clarify first as it seems a bit strange to be having to build something to support the bath :)

Sorry, let me clarify. I'm talking about the battens that you attach to the wall, to rest the rim of the bath on.

Masona this was actually aimed at pepper.

does the bath not have its own legs?
Yes, the bath does have it's own legs, but the instructions recommend fitting battens for extra stability. Would you say that's not necessary?

usually not but if they recommend it then do it 2x1 should be fine as its not really taking any weight
