Are all the latest free standing ovens ment to have a safety gas cut out if you shut the glass lid when the hobs are on ?

As daft as it sounds i`m sure there was something out recently that said not now, but dammed if i can find it

Only reason I ask is I have just had a gas safety check on one of my properties and the gas safe engineer said " I will pass the boiler but will not pass the oven because the rings are not shutting off when I shut the glass. This has failed a safety feature".

Sounds like your gas safe engineer has done the correct thing to me, provided of course he also disconnected the appliance to prevent further use

But he didnt know if it had that feature that why I asked do they all. He didnt look at make either.

I was gathering they would all have it as if some did and some never and that feature stopped working how is it unsafe ?

If any appliance has a safety device then it must work .
Not having it at all from new is a different matter

If it has a glass lid it must have safety device if it is a metal lid (never seen one) it can just have a safety label saying not to shut the lid.

As said if it has a safety device fitted it must work.

Covered it recently in acs resit

New cookers don't need the cut off valve. They rely on vitiation of the burner and FFD intervention.

Just been to property and got the make and model.

It is a Stoves Newhome 600 Si DLm oven which are pretty expensive. Does anyone know if this can be fixed ?

I believe it is the flame supervision device.
