Hi,
I'm going to install a french drain into my garden to help improve drainage. From reading on the net I need to dig holes around 18 inches deep and 8 inches wide. The hole needs to have a slight decline to allow gravity to assist in the drainage. My question is when I put the gravel down ( 3 inches ) to set the perferated pipe onto, does it matter if this does not follow the decline. I imagine not but I just wanted to double check.
Another question is how much top soil is required to allow grass to grow.
Thanks
Steve
