friendland doorbell light not working

hi i have an ordinary friedland black doorbell .. the light stopped work, now i bought 2 separate replacements and it is still not working.

Does it still go ding dong - I mean, is it only the light that is not working?

yeah it ding dong sound is fine .. just the light

wouldnt mind, only i spent £3.80 today on 2 replacement bulbs ..

I take it this is the bell push light?

Are the contacts all clean? If they are tarnished its worth giving them a polish up.

£5.90 will buy a new bellpush? Cleaning the contacts with a small strip emery might help.
