Fused Spur to Socket?

Hey guys,

I have a 13amp fused spur blanking plate for a stair lift at the top of the stairs that I'd like to replace with a plug socket. I just wanted to check that it's as straight-forward as I believe it to be before I swap it over?

Yes, provided the circuit has an RCD, which it certainly already should have given the colour of the wiring.

There is nothing specific for the socket at the fuse box so I assume it will likely fall under 5 (general sockets). But I will get a voltage tester on this tomorrow.

I cannot see any sign of an output from the spur - guess the lift has been done away with? Into the input side there would seem to be two browns, and two blues, which would suggest it is wired on the ring of the sockets.

Hi Harry. Thanks for the response.

It's a new build so there has been no stair lift installed.

All of those circuits have individual RCD protection so no problems there.
