Hello there people
I have had puddles under my bath and on taking the quadrant strip along the wall off, I find that the bath fits the wall at the tap end but has a gap of about 3/4 inch from the wall at the head end. I cant move it as it fits the top and bottom ends in a alcove.

How should I fill in this gap so water does not get through?

Hope someone can help

i would just silicon seal the gap mate ;) fill yer bath up with water first though this will open the gap so the sealant will seal the whole gap ;) paul

I wouldn't seal a 3 quarter inch gap with silicone, nor would I cover it over with a quadrant strip, but what I would do, especially if the bath is set into an alcove, is to fix moisture-proof plasterboard over the original wall to bring it out by 12mm, tape the joints and put 2 or 3 rows of tiles on. After the tiling has been completed, fill up the bath with water, and then silicone around the bath. It will make for a better job overall.

Roughcaster.
