garage conversion

hi
as well as building above my garage i also want convert the space to a dining room when i have the door way bricked up and a window put in it will have one brick thick 8"skin across the front what happens here regarding plastering how will they plaster what stops the damp coming through.

Sorry to be glib, but you're doing things out of sequence.

You'll need Building Control approval for this. This will require plans, on which will be shown the correct method of doing what you need done.

At what point in the wall are you concerned that damp could come through?
 
im just worried being an 8 inch wall dampness from the weather will saturate the wall, how would they prevent this

solid 9" or 225mm walls tend to be quite robust, though it has been known for prolonged driving rain, or if a header brick has perished, for water to "wick" its way through. if your brickwork and mortar joints are in good nick, preferably engineering standard, then don't worry too mutch about damp.
