Hi Guys, I'm thinking of fitting an electric garage door opener/closer but am concerned about the security of the garage once fitted.
As part of the fitting will I need to disable the original locks on the door and if so how is the door secured ?
I store a lot of expensive tools etc in the garage as well as the car so security is paramount.
Thanks in advance for any advice

:D

THe motor acts as the lock in most cases, because trying to move the gearing "in reverse" is to all intents impossible. Some doors like my roller shutter do in fact include an alarm should anyone try to force the door up.
