two questions please

1. Do the new 17th edition rules apply to garages - ie CU and sockets below 1.2 metres?

2. Is it better to run SWA underground or along the side of a wall - underground more cosmetic but along wall safer?

Heights, these olny apply to new builds and full refurbs, however most people put re-wires / new wires within these limits

SWA is designed to be run either underground or surface mounted, so it is up to you, bearing in mind depths of burial and all that.

SWA done well surface mounted can look pretty professional and conveys professionalism and has some aesthetic appeal
