Twin and earth. You need to carry the earth through to the last lamp.

You’ll find using twin and earth (solid conductors) easier in those push fit terminal blocks than stranded cable.

When the light is next changed (maybe by someone other than you), the new one may not be double-insulated and may therefore need an earth - so the earth needs to be 'there'. For the present, you need to find something safe to do with the (currently not needed) earth wire (like putting it into a lit bit of connector block).

Thanks. The earth is still there to the light but ive just nipped the 3 mm of copper off the end of the wire and its inside the light fitting at present. So any other light could be fitted straight away.

But what if one of the subsequent lights is replaced, or another one added which needs an earth?

The earth is still there on the cable but there is no way to connect earth to the light. The subsequent lights willl be the exact same double insulated light and will have twin and earth cable running to the next light but only neutral and live will be connected.
