Hi Guys first timer here with no electrical knowledge. My problem is that I've just bought a new house which has an attached garage. There are two strip lights linked with a cable between the two, with one cable coming down into a junction box. The only problem is that the switch has been disconnected and im looking for some advice as to how i wopuld wire this up???????Help would be appreciated.

need more info

why has switch been removed, how many wires are there, where are they?

Sorry. There are 3 wires in the J.B. Red, Black+ Earth. I don't know why the switch was removed. There are also two wires in the switch, red into "c" and black(with red sleeving) into L1, im just looking to find out where to connect the switch to. I also think there may have been a supply cable coming from the consumer unit into the J.B. as the 5A fuse does not have anything connected into it.

Have a look at the drawings in 'for reference' at the top of the bulletin board. Does it look like it might have origianally been any of the lighting circuits shown. If there was a feed cable removed, is it possible to see where it went?
If not you might be better putting a flex and plug on it and making the garage lights just plug in, at least you can isolate it properly for working, you dont sound that sure of yourself, please dont take offence.
regards M.
