Garage Piers

I will be commencing the build of a garage, which will measure 5.6m by 5.3m. Should I integrate piers into it? Feels a little overkill, but the council did bring it up without stating a need for it.
Walls will be single skin, made up of concrete blocks which have a 100mm width, and will be rendered.

There used to be an ickle diagram in part A for garage piers didn't there?

100 x 440 ( one block) pier in the middle of the walls, and either side of the door.
