Garage roof leaking. Advice on which felt please

Hi all,

Just noticed that my garage roof has been leaking. It must have been during the heavy downpour the other day. Being as I work for a large builders merchants ill have no issues getting replacement felt for little cost, but am I able to use normal green mineral felt on a roof that is at the moment laid with felt and shingle/gravel?

If you want to overlay you'll need the old chippings off and the surface sound and dry.

But i'd consider total replacement once you "discover" a leaking felted roof.

"green mineral felt" can refer to a number of different felts - typically, it refers to shed felt.
