Hi all,

Having a new garage installed which needs a new slab- current one is made of half the area with a concrete slab the other half paving slabs. Plan is to put another 4-5 inch reinforced slab over this for the new prefab to sit on. What's the best way to damp proof this? Dpm membrane under the new slab? In which case what do you do with this on the edges? Or just use a paintable dpm on the floor after?

How are you going to get the car in the garage if it is perched five inches above ground level?

DPM will be useless in any case particularly if the sides of the slab are exposed.
