Hi just a bit of advice. I'm looking to convert my garage into a games room, the garage wall is single brick width, I intend to stud the walls and insulate with celotex, my question is does it have to be 100mm celotex or 50mm. I know the thicker the better but can you get away with 50mm?

Thanks

If you are doing it under Building Regs, then to comply with Part L, you'd be looking at 75 - 80mm Celotex.

If space is tight, you could use less, but would need to agree a thickness with the BCO, or alternatively offer to put extra insulation elsewhere, eg in the roof.

Thank you. The space is about 5M x 3.2M so can do 100mm thick walls, didn't intend to go by regs as such but wanted to do the next best thing. Was also putting celotex in ceiling too.
