Is there still a market for these?

IP43 PAR38 spike with Osram 80W lamp included.

You might find a sucker on Fleabay or FB marketplace but I doubt it...can't remember the last time I saw a PAR38 anywhere :)

:):):)

I may have passed them by and not registered them since then, but the last time I noticed one (apart from the PAR38 Thorn spotlight given to me to make a table lamp out of in 1977 -yes, a table lamp!), was in 1981.....!

We retired the last ones at work in 1990. I might have them in the garage still if you needed spare lamps :)

I used to have about 50 of these, all with 16A ceeform in & out, and a selection of coloured (Red, yellow, green, orange & some blue. But blue didn't really work too well)

We used to use them for temporary feature lighting in gardens when we'd provided the Entertainment in a marquee for a wedding reception or similar.

Bit of a PITA to setup but always looked good as night fell.

You can buy LED PAR38s - both colours and white.

I remember when a 'proper' PAR38 lamp was 150W......

One of my bathrooms is still lit by three (wide beam angle) PAR38 'downlights'. The ceiling was so low (because of a raised floor to accommodate a sunken bath) that only something 'flush' was practical (if one did not want to hit one's head on the light fitting!) and, at the time (30+ years ago) recessed downlights (as we now know them) did not seem to be all that plentiful.

Kind Regards, John
