garden watering system

has anybody got any experience with watering systems? the perimeter of my garden has several trees and a border down 1 side that all need watering during the dry weather i can borrow hose to connect to mine to do this but was wondering if i could bury something along the fence and just have take offs to the trees and maybe a long length of soak or drip hose along the border that i want watering, i was hoping that i could just have an end of the buried hose that i could just put on to the end of the tap and turn it on every now and again to keep things watered and save myself some time

forgot to say it needs to be approx 70m long with the last 20 being soak hose or similar

any ideas or suggestions greatly appreciated
