I have a 9 month old Vaillant ECO TEC Plus 418 with a hot water cylinder and CH System
Q. Is it more economical to have the boiler going 24/7 with a thermostatically controlled temp' of 60c on the hot water cylinder OR just have set times for hot water of say 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours in the evening?

Thanks you.

As far as I know it is more efficient to have the hot water and heating timed.

The boiler loses heat all the time that its on.

However all normal heating and HW controls will turn off the boiler when the HW or the room has reached the set temperature.

So your question has less significance than you probably imagine.
