On my gas cooker hob the electric spark igniter that lights the gas flame has stopped working.

Mains electric connects at base of hob & supplies the igniter.

Any ideas what the problem could be, what typical faults are, that stop the igniter working & what to check ??

How does the igniter feed connect to the electric supply?? Is it a plug/socket or something else???

The first thing is to make absolutely sure there is electricity at that point.

If there is electricity there then you have a problem with the hob. If you dont have a feed there may be a switch or fuse that needs looking at..

There is a socket under oven supplying hob.
I have checked fuse & socket supply, they are ok.

Assuming the fuse in the plug on the hob lead is OK then you've a problem with the hob itself.

You'll need to get someone in who services the make of hob you've got.
