Hello again

I have a coal effect gas fire with piezo ignition. The ignition sparks every time but will not light the pilot. If I use a match or lighter then it works perfectly. Should I leave the pilot on all the time, have the thing replaced/repaired or continue to light it manually?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Try cleaning it.
In the "base" of the pilot jet there is a small hole; use an air aerosol or a straw and blow.
Often the jet is screwed in so that the way the hole faces is hidden and is not visible.

Quick response - thank you. I will have a look at giving it a good clean in daylight.
Thanks again.
