Hi All

I have a problem with my gas fire, it is approx 15 months old it is an Advatage L.F.L. (it has written on the instruction book - trade:121)

it has been fine so far but today when we lit it, it went out about 10 mins later, this happened twice.....and now when you light it, it goes straight out.

Anyone heard of this probelme before?

Any advice gratefully received!

Cheers

Assume your talking about a Brilliant Fires Advantage.

If its be installed for 15 months its time you had it fully serviced and the flue checked out.

As this chap has said, theres a good reason as to why its going out.

Get a CORGI guy in, and if he knows his stuff he should be able to sort the problem out.

Theres more to just an LFE, nowadays. :)

sounds like the oxy pilot is kickking in and saving your life from carbon monoxide poisoning. is $45 worth your life for a servivce

As with LFE fires, the precision pilot must play on the t/lead as with the lack of oxygen in the room, the pilots flame wont do this properly, so the pilot wont stay ignited. This is done to keep you alive.

A blocked pilot will cause the same fault (no matter how much oxygen in the room) and as everyone else has said...get in a corgi man who can.

Common fault on all LFE's, but very easily repaired.
