Just recieved a neff gas hob and extractor. Why does the extractor have a moulded plug yet the gas hob doesn,t.I assumed the Gas hob (The igniter bit that is) was plugged into a normal 13amp socket.I may be wrong though.

The Hob will need a plug on it, with ONLY a 3A fuse.

The eaxtractor does not need the plug and wou will not void the warranty on this cutting it off as it is designed as a Fixed appliance and you would not be changing it's use.

For the first time in years I recently bought a couple of 13A plugs (MK). They actually had 3A fuses in them, not 13A - how long has this laudable idea been going?

For yonks, mate.

For as long as I can remember the big DIY sheds at least have stocked a choice of 1363 plug tops with 3 or 13 A fuses, but not 5. Hmmm..
