Gas leak detectors

Never had a problem with the gasco seeker mk1 or mk2 reading anything other than natural gas or LPG. If i ever have a difficult to trace leak i just get a transco mate round with a gastech, smell a fart at a hundred yards.. Also if your getting no trace in the house it checks service and isn`t coming in from outside

Amazing how many false alarm gas smells you can get favourite in the summer was creosote also certain pine bushes give off a gas smell . Also damp proofing in older builings and rotting woodwork under floors

Worst one we every had was somebody tipped a load of the chemicals that puts the smell into gas people where smelling gas for about 6 mile radius and ten floors up buildings .

They're ALL daft in that they respond to rubber carpet underlay, leak detection fluid, the smell of an old gas pipe, temperature, etc etc. Even the £1000 GascoSeekers do that.

Spent an hour once tracing a "leak"....no drop on TT......turned out to be the tenants festering rubbish.

EWwwwwwww

Not normal and NO need doirty sods

Finally I removed the fire to bench test at home. I told her that if she still smelled gas after it was installed that I would ring Transco myself.

Never heard from her again but I suspected that she could smell the leak detection fluid I'd been using.

Didn't she even call to ask for her fire back?
