What do you want to do? For £25 - 30 you can buy a basic one.

find a small leak but i want to use a decent qulity detector

you can find them on the gas safe website

We don't encourage DIYers to do their own gas work!

Its not illegal to use a sniffer to locate a gas leak.

But repairing a gas leak certainly is.

Nor would the DIYer be able to test for the leak before and afterwards.
