What is the current spec etc for securing a gas meter? My mates gas meter is piped straight in with 22mm copper going in and out, no anaconda. The only support the meter has is from the pipe work, from which the meter hangs..

Meter is a R5 type from 1997

looking through viper book looking for something else on meters ( which got answered here) seen something about meter install/replacement saying that meters should be supported, but if an old install then it must only be NCS as old meters didn't have brackets, if the meter is dangling i would make up a plinth and slide it under the meter as it shouldn't hang on the pipework

New regs all. new meters installed have to be either fixed to the wall with a bractet or fixed to the floor with a floor standing support.

If it's supported it can be flexies both sides. Hanging from pipes is only "not to current standard" as long as they're over 600mm long and fixed.

COrgi might change that next week...
