Gas pipe in concrete floor

Hi all,

I've been removing some old decorative block work that was laid on top the concrete floor in my living room (1970s house I believe), but some of the concrete floor pulled up with a block exposing this pipe.

It's magnetic, solid if I try to scratch it, black in colour and about an inch in diameter. It seems to be only 2mm below the floor level. Tracing it with a detector lines up with the pipe from the gas meter in the garage going through the wall to the living room, and it seems to follow the edge of the house towards the kitchen where the boiler is, so I would believe it is a gas pipe.

Is this an issue that the pipe is only few mill below the floor level that I need to address now? I didn't want to just fill the hole with concrete incase there is a risk of corrosion to the pipe. Any advice on next steps or what to expect if I need to call a plumber out would be great please!

Thanks!
