Gas pipe on outside wall. Safe?

Hi,

I have a flat that is the upstairs of a converted house.

The gas pipe from the white box at the front of the house goes vertically up the outside of the wall for about 3 metres, and enters into the kitchen where the boiler is.

Is it safe to have a copper gas pipe on the outside of the house like that or should it have been fitted inside?

Glad its ok, as the gas supply to my boiler (in the loft) is external copper, & yes it was done by Corgi...Woof Woof.

Does look a bit naff but at least it's not a danger to anyone.

I guess popping out for a smoke by the doorway wouldn't be the best of ideas..
