I've just broken my parents' precious ancient gas poker. Can anyone help me find a replacement ? It's probably nearly 50 years old and fits into the mains fitting on the floor by the fire. The poker bayonet is imperial measurements 7/16 diameter inside and 9/16 diameter to the outside edge but hope these are standard sizing for floor taps. The poker end with two pins sticking out either side have broken off and now the gas can't be turned on.
We tried to find gas pokers about 20 years ago but drew a blank and I guess they hoped this one would last them out !
I know you can get pokers connected to propane bottles (a local pub uses one) but these probably won't look very good in the living room and I'm hoping I can get another old poker. Or Else maybe getting a corgi installer change over the floor fitting if I can get a metric poker to match...
This is a brilliant website and everyone sounds very clued up so I'm hopeful and any info would be greatly appreciated !
