Biggest laff(very rare) I had on this forum was Telly Tony Agile saying he could drink a Jock under the table...............

I didn't actually say "a Jock" ( meaning "any" Jock ).

All I said was when I did a trip to the Western Isles with the BBC Transmitter Manager from Fort William, I had been warned that they drink a lot and I should be careful not to let them get me seriously drunk.

He was Scottish and called Roy Dalrymple and he apparently sometimes played the accordian at that hotel at the north end of Ft William. Well on the Isles we had our meals and drinks and he always used to retire early to leave me still drinking!

What I did like though was when be got back each day he liked to go into the bar, before we washed and dressed for dinner, for a "reviver" !

There was also a Scottish Jewish radio producer called Harry Levinson, but we called him McLevinson and he drunk very little at all at the Burns night dinners!
