Gas ran out, can't get pilot on

right just turn top knob to the spark sign and see if that does it should here a clicking noise when you do
i'm getting a spark but it's not remaining? 
i'm tripped out, one problem was the meter has gone to 'off' so i've gotten it on and now the gas cooker workss but sseems like the light isn't on stil and the water is cold :\
got it in the end
