I have a long standing customer with a beam cross his gateway which triggers a light and bell in his garden, and used to trigger a sounder in the house through the alarm system, the sounder failed after a power cut. I am looking for ideally a wireless doorbell set up that can be triggered by a relay (existing) they all seem to be push button operated AFAIK

Wireless doorbell is to achieve what, without power to the unit they will regularly be walking out and replacing a spare battery to keep it running!

Wireless bell will be in house, probably mains powered, the trigger is an existing 12 volt relay controlled by a clean contact in turn triggered by the infra red beam, this is basically the current set up but connected via the alarm panel

I am lost. Says wireless doorbell setup ideally?

You say the current bell on the alarm failed after a power cut, don’t under stand why that would be the case. If the panels back up battery took over nothing should of changed.

Struggling to visualise what you have and what you want to achieve.

I have a driveway chime system, the PIR sender has a 9v battery that lasts more than a year. You might call that "regular"

Some of the indoor sounders have three AAA batteries, and a couple are plug in. The plug ins do not have a standby battery, and I have to relearn them if they are disconnected.

Its hard to explain, when the beam is broken it sends a signal to a relay in the garage, (all powered by the alarm ) the relay then sends a signal via the alarm panel to a sounder in the house ( which has now stopped working)

Also the relay brings on a bell and light in the garden via a timer relay which I installed years ago, customer wants a new internal sounder to be triggered by the bell relay
