I am not a real DIYer nor a gardener! I am looking to purchase a wooden gazebo for garden c2.5m diameter. It is to go in the corner which is currently part soil and part grass. I have looked online and many places in the US recommend crushed stone which looks easyish to me but I have spoken to a number of suppliers in the UK and they recommend paving slabs or concrete base, not crushed stone.

I am looking for an easy solution, not becasue of laziness (well, maybe a bit!) but becuase I do not have any real equipment/skill and the idea of digging a hole and filling with stone seems something I can do.

Is this a US/UK difference? I am loathed to ignore advice formt he UK suppliers but plenty int he US say it's ok.

Thanks in advance.
