GCSE Prodject

Hi I was wondering if you could help me out with my prodject.I am trying to build an alarm system that is set off by a pressure pad then when it is sett off I was wondering if I would be able to make a camera take a simple picture off the victim that has set the alarm off. I have read the other topics and it looks like you know what your doing and is up for a challange and was wondering if you could send me some info to me to help me make this prodject.

What help is your teacher giving you in terms of designing & building this set-up?

I guess you are allowed to use ready-made components like an alarm panel, sounder, pressure pad and camera, but need to know how to link them together, and what mechanism to use to trigger the camera.

How far have you got? You did say HELP, not do it all!

Sorry to be such a pedant, but if you're correcting other people, you need to look at the grammar as well as the spelling.

i am not going to mention that set off is spelt sett off.

But back to the question, why not think about this.

a pressure mat being open circuit goes closed when stepped on, some cameras have the facility to take a picture by remote control, this remote control is usually a plug in connector (open going closed)

why not combine the two.

I was tempted (I am, in fact, a grammar-Nazi) but I found when I was teaching kids of James' age that whilst some might grudgingly accept that spelling mattered, grammar was a totally alien concept. This isn't helped, of course, by things like the huge banner I just saw in B & Q (Sorry, I know, but I needed lamps and it was handy!) which said something like "Ask at the checkout for you card..."

what is its plural? i was taught it is rooves, but it has been corupted to roofs

To who should I address my response, or should that be to whom. Actually, rather than diss (sorry, I know that makes sad, old and totally uncool ) James' original question, I think maybe some slightly more constructive advice wouldn't come amiss, we all have to start somewhere. I agree with what's been said, but we surely don't want to frighten the poor fella off. Obviously I have no idea about the original question, as is completely usual, but couldn't you forgive his slightly less than perfect grasp of english (deliberate )

Sorry mate, it's pronounced 'rooves', but it's always been spelled (spelt, the lazy version, is actually a species of wheat!) r-o-o-f-s.
