Hello

We seem to have quite a bad mold problem around the bottom of our doors and windows. Is there anything that we can do to stop the mold from comming back everytime we clean it of?

We have made sure that we have reduced the condensation in the room, but is there anything that can be put onto the walls to kill the mold?

Thanks
Ian

bleach. clean the affected areas with bleach. Thats what my mum always does anyway. Then as long as you keep the condensation down, the area should be ok. Try a dehumidifier.

You can also paint those areas with a paint intended for bathrooms.

Such bathroom paints (like Zinsser's PermaWhite Bathroom Paint) will contain mildewcides that kill the mold spores that land on the paint before they have a chance to grow and discolour the paint, thereby keeping it free of mildew.

I've had no problems at all with the Zinsser's PermaWhite Bathroom Paint, but I've read comments in the Painting & Decorating forum that the Dulux Kitchen & Bath paint isn't very good for some reason. I think if you post in there, Zampa can give you more details on it.

Yes i have heard about certain paints, I will post in the decorating section as advised to check

Thanks
Ian

If you've got mould inside the house, then you've got a damp problem.

Is it an old house? Where do you put your wet washing? Where do you do the ironoing? Is there an automatic extractor fan in the bathroom and kitchen
