Getting tiles to clean/buff up?

Having 2 bathrooms done, with large slate grey/black estone tiles.

The design is slightly pitted, and our tiler is having trouble getting these to buff up?

They are clean but after wiping down continuous they still seem streaky?

Is there a solution to get rid of the dirt and buff up or even give the tiles a clean slate finish?

Are you wiping down with wet cloth? buffing should only be done with a dry rough cloth , I use a car buffing machine on large or difficult areas.
