glass cover valor fire

I need to buy a glass cover for a valor homeflame fire, but the part is so expensive. can anyone tell me if this is the correct price. To buy the glass unit with its frame and sealant strip is £166.

To buy a new gas fire is £180.

i am more inclined to go for a new gas fire - flavel firenza i was quoted on.

does anyone know if all this sounds reasonable and if so why is the part the same cost as a new fire almost?

Prob cause manufacturers hope you are claiming off house insurance and so can charge you whatever.
Even trade it would cost £139 I think the terminology is taking the pish

Thats a shame had to disconnect one last week was in perfect nick too, cust. didn't want it and I was in 2 minds wheather to ebay it...in the end left it outside the door for a couple of hours and sure enough the tat man smelt it.
