Why does it have to be one factor? Why not a combination? It seems to me that we get all our heat from the sun (which is why it cools overnight and in winter) - so sunspot activity seems to be in there somewhere.

It has been reported that the climate on Mars is getting warmer and that the martian ice caps are retreating.
But as yet they haven't detected the martians driving 4 by 4 who are causing it.
