My Mother-in-law has a Glow-worm 24cxi boiler installed approx 3 years ago. Since then I have used the filling tap on a very regular basis (twice per week) to re-pressurize it.
Now on returning from two weeks holiday with the boiler having been switched off at the mains, on switching back on the pressure was zero.

Is this a known problem or could you provide any insight into likely causes?

Thanks for your time.

Several things can cause pressure loss.

The expansion vessel can be ruled out as the pressure falls without the system being turned on.

Bleeding the radiators will let the pressure off but shouldn't need doing regularly on a sealed system.

This suggests that there is a leak somewhere. Have a look and check compression joints, radiator valves etc. Also automatic air release valves if fitted. Also the water could be leaking from the pressure relief valve ('overflow') or internally within the boiler.

Hope that gives you a few pointers.
