We have a really strange problem with our boiler. Its about 8 year old and over the last six months or so it has intermittently stopped producing hot water. When u go to the boiler it sounds like something is running inside like a motor but the green light isnt on. Pressure in the system is fine. Only way to get the water to run hot again is to turn off the boiler using the switch on the front, leave for a few secs, turn it back on and then it works again.
Sorry for the longwinded description. Bet u can tell i'm not a plumber!

Any advice would be great as my missus is doing my nut in to get it sorted!

Not sure if this will help someone post a reply but quite often during the night especially when its cold you can hear the boiler firing up for between 30 and 60 secs and then it goes off again.

Any suggestions????
