Hi all,
Firstly, I know nothing about boilers so apologies in advance if I'm talking rubbish!
I've got a 7 year old Glow Worm Compact 75 - it hasn't been serviced in the 2 years I've been living at my house.
It's been running fine until last weekend. For no reason, the burner goes out even when there is demand from either water or heating. The only way to get the burner to light again is to switch the boiler off completely for a few minutes and then turn it back on again. The reset button doesn't seem to do anything at all (what is it supposed to do?). When the burner goes out, the pilot LED also goes out.
At first this was once a day, now it's not even staying on for 20 minutes.
One thing I've noticed which is strange is the water demand light is always on but very faint. When I turn the hot tap on, it lights up normally, but when I turn the tap off, it goes back to being very faint (it never goes completely off).
I can post some pictures if required, but if anyones got any ideas, I would appreciate some advice. If necessary, I can get someone in to look at it, but I'm fairly competent at taking things apart and fiddling if I've got any clue what I'm looking for.
Thanks in advance if anyone can give me any pointers.
