Hi
came home from work today and no heating.....
i checked the boiler and no pilot light....held the button and lit the pilot but it does not stay on,i changed the thermocouple but still not staying on....i have no manual for this boiler and wondered if there was a reset on it

Check that you have a healthy pilot flame which is playing correctly over the thermocouple tip. If Ok check that the overheat stat is closed circuit. This is the two thick white wires that connect to the gas valve with the other end connected to OH stat on the boiler heat exchanger. For exercise purposes you can short out the stat end with a paperclip and see if the pilot stays on. If it still doesn/t work, change gas valve.
 
Quite a few connections to check before getting the GV changed, which is a corgi job.
 
More than likely the gas valve, changed 8 of them in the past 3 months on gloworms. Mexican quality goods!

all it does is intoroduce un-metered air into the system - therefore leaning out your mixture - not exactly what I would recomend on a performance car!!!
