Hi I have had a plumber out to the boiler 5 times recently - the last visit replaced the air flow switch which seemed to resolve the problem.

Unfortunately when you are in the shower it is usually hot but occasionally it has started to go cold after a few minutes.

Thumping the top right of the boiler sometimes works in getting it going again.

I am worried I am wasting more money on it if it is 'dying' and maybe I would be better investing in a new combi? Any suggestions for what the problem is would be grately appreciated.

Thanks

The heating works ok but the pressure does drop a lot after it has been on - so needs topping up - can't find any leaks + have bled the radiators so no air in it as far as I can tell.

Thanks - just checked no leaks outside. However one of the initial faults was a leaking pipe inside the boiler which needed a new washer.

sounds like dhw flow switch is dodgy and you must have a leak somewhere if boiler needs topping up all the time
