A glow worm betacom 28 works fine on CH but it doesn't on DHW, no flashing lights showing, would it be the valve motor?

Could be, but could be flow sensor. Needs proper testing.

can you hear the boiler fire up at all ? is the water cold or no hot water flow ? does the rads heat up when running hot water for a while ? could also be sensors ? could be a few things need more detail ?
