That's more about the person, not the technology.
It is more about the industry which markets the technology and relies on the ignorance of the general public. Ignorance which allows the unethical marketing of products to 90% of the customers using claims that are valid only for a much smaller percentage of customers.
Does the industry relate customers complaints to the manufacturer back to the installer who oversold / mis-sold their product to an un-informed customer ?

Yet he runs his heating 24/7 and by turning off during the night would save him an immediate 33% on his heating costs!
The Swiftflow is actually a pretty efficient boiler apart from the permanent pilot which costs about £30 a year to run.
