Glowworm flexicom15hx sat i garage 4 months , now i need it

Im trying to test a boiler ive had laying around before i install it. I put mains live to the boiler, but im getting no indication that its on!!!!
It says on instructions *appliance wont work without a link or external controls fitted* , but all i wanna do is test it b4 all the bother off getting 5 hrs down the line and nothing!

On the interface cartridge there is the usual-
L
N
E

Then,
E
N (mains Neutral)
R (switcch live)
F (frost stat)

System controls are connected from "R" to junction box ie room stat ,prop zone valve.

Anyway i just wanna test it out of situe without being linked up to controls
I put power to live neutral earth then tried linking"R" which is the switch live to N, but nothing ,

Please anyone have any ideas

If you are a registered installer then you should have no problem connecting it up after you have installed it and commissioning it.

In any case it will be covered by the warrantee!

If you are not registered then you need a gas registered person to install and commission it!

Link the r to the L this should power the switch live, but with just the LNE connected should bring the interface alive as the switch live is only to start the fan and gas valve once satisfied.
