I'm thinking of getting the installer to fit the above boiler in my new build instead of the ACV I was initially opting for.

Has anyone got any knowledge of these, I've been told there is a 10 day lead in time for this boiler.

My house has 2 shower rooms and a main bathroom, I'm thinking the hot water store with the facility to work as a combi when the hot water store is empty is a great set up.

Am I also correct in saying these have an immersion back up ?

Were thinking of going with the climapro 2 controller with outdoor sensor, anyone got any thoughts on this or is this just over complicating matters ?

Thanks

Best boiler unvented cylinder combination on the market.
Should boiler fail you have immersion backup.
Should you be using a lot of water it falls back to combi mode.
You will never be without hot water.

Climapro works well from what I've seen but will equally work with
basic on off timer and wall thermostat.

You can also switch the unvented off and just use it as a combi
to save should there be only 1 or 2 in the house.

Excellent thanks for that,

We've decided to go for this boiler.

I assume with this being a combi set up there will be no hot water return ?

Be aware of its limitations when you decide on that boiler!

Does your installer not advise you on the choice of boiler? Are you sure he is competent enough?

Be aware that its only Corkwell who is recommending this boiler from this forum.

The requirements for dynamic flow rate and the residual flow rate when the store has been exhausted!

How do you go about turning off the unvented side and use it as a normal combi ?

crikey you have advice to get it from someone whos never installed it, and not to from someone whos never seen one lol

Firstly it is a decent boiler, and will perform well providing your flow rate is adequate. You cant switch it to just a combi, it is effectively a store combi, the cylinder will be kept hot at all times. Fairly sure you can plumb in a secondary return from memory. Never seen one plumbed in though so check manual if you need this.

re: climapro 2 and outside sensor, yes definitely they are superb controls, fitted loads, not in anyway complicated.

Well guys the boilers been up and running for a few weeks now and so far so good, I personally can't fault it and my installer reckoned it was a breeze to fit apart from some plastic washer that he binned.

I've gone with the Climapro 2RF for controls but I'm going to add weather comp.

Has anyone used the wireless outdoor sensor, I'm curious to know what range it will work too as my north facing wall is approx 8m away from the boiler, if this is no good it will need to be a wired sensor on a NE facing wall.

Anyone got any info on this ?

Thanks

I would use a piece of cable around the house. It is fool proof.

Not exactly a north facing wall but a wall that never gets the sun shining on it ( at any time of year! ).

I tried the wireless outside sensor for about a year. The system was too slow to respond during the warmer months when wanting to just "put the heating on for an hour" even on the highest curve setting. I got rid of it in the end but not without a fight.... I could not unpair the sensor from the system, had to buy a new RF receiver for the boiler end of the setup. Glow-worm blamed firmware but I was out of warranty at this point.

I much prefer how the system modulates with just the CP2RF thermostat/handset, it follows the room temperature and backs off the flow temp as the room's setpoint gets closer, rather than just sticking mindlessly with what the outside temperature says it should run at.

I'm living in a 4 year old property though, very well insulated so YMMV.
